Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute innovative, high-quality menus showcasing local and seasonal ingredients, including game meat and South African flavors.

• Lead, train, and inspire a team of kitchen staff to maintain exceptional culinary standards.

• Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, budgeting, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Collaborate with lodge management to create unique dining experiences, including bush dinners and special events.

• Ensure consistent delivery of outstanding food quality and presentation for guests and private functions.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-end restaurant, lodge, or hotel setting.

• Culinary qualification (diploma or equivalent) from a recognized institution.

• Strong knowledge of South African cuisine, with expertise in incorporating local and indigenous ingredients.

• Experience in menu planning, cost control, and kitchen management.

• Ability to thrive in a remote location with a passion for the bushveld lifestyle.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Valid work permit for South Africa (if applicable).

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
