🌿 Technical Service Manager – Remote Lodge Environment

📍 Location: Remote, off‑grid lodge environment 🛠️ Position: Technical Service Manager 🌱 Industry: Hospitality / Tourism / Conservation

🔧 Purpose of the Role

A leading eco‑hospitality operation is seeking an experienced Technical Service Manager to oversee all maintenance operations, utilities, and infrastructure across its remote camps. The ideal candidate will ensure reliable functioning of off‑grid power, water, communication, and facility systems while leading maintenance teams and infrastructure projects to exceptional standards.

🧰 Key Responsibilities

• 🔧 Manage preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance across camp infrastructure.
• ☀️ Oversee solar power systems, generators, HVAC units, boreholes, pumps, and water treatment systems.
• 🏗️ Lead refurbishment, renovation, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• 🛠️ Manage tools, equipment, spare parts, and inventory controls.
• 📡 Ensure functionality of VHF radio communication systems.
• 🚜 Maintain roads, airstrips, fencing, and back‑of‑house facilities.
• 👷 Train, mentor, and develop maintenance staff.
• ⚠️ Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards.
• 🤝 Collaborate with Area Managers on maintenance planning, budgets, and capital projects.

🎓 Minimum Requirements

• 🎓 Relevant technical qualification or trade certification (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
• 🏕️ Proven maintenance management experience, ideally within hospitality, tourism, or remote lodge operations.
• ⚡ Strong knowledge of solar systems, generators, HVAC, water infrastructure, and general building maintenance.
• 🧱 Experience managing projects, contractors, and maintenance teams.
• 💻 Computer literacy and strong report‑writing skills.
• 🌍 Ability to live and work in remote, off‑grid environments.
• 🚗 Valid driver’s licence and PDP.
